Garlic Aioli Recipe

Easy garlic aioli recipe made with mayonnaise can be used as a dipping sauce or spread. It may be used as is or make it spicy, chipotle, or add lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise homemade is best
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 Tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Measure ⅓ cup of mayonnaise into a small bowl.
  • Mince the garlic clove and add to mayo.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of lime (or lemon) juice.
  • Add ½ teaspoon of paprika.
  • Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Mix together well. Pro-Tip: The texture should resemble runny ranch dressing.
  • Taste for flavor and adjust to your liking. Let set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to incorporate.

Notes

  • Do not store for longer than 3 days in the refrigerator when using homemade mayonnaise made with raw egg yolks.
  • For additional flavors try the following:
    • Creamy – Mix in an avocado and serve it with a vegetable tray.
    • Spicy – Add some chipotle seasonings or red pepper flakes to spice it up.
    • Savory – Roast the garlic instead of using raw garlic, or add a bit of lime or lemon zest with the lime or lemon juice.
